The Comanche National Grassland includes 419,495 acres of grasslandshome
to 275 species of birds, approximately 40 species of reptiles, and
many other types of wildlife. Native Americans once lived in the
Picketwire and Vogal canyons where rock art is still viewable on
the canyon walls. This national reserve also features the largest
documented "dinosaur tracksite" in North America. More

The largest dinosaur tracksite in North America, the Picketwire
Canyonlands Dinosaur Tracksite has over 1,300 dinosaur prints along
the area that is now the Purgatoire River Valley. The dinosaur tracksite
is 20 miles south of La Junta, Colorado. More
